What is the Sea Grant Great Lakes Aquaculture Collaborative?
Our Great Lakes Aquaculture Collaborative (GLAC) group is composed of Sea Grant extension educators, science communicators, fisheries biologists, economists, and aquaculture specialists from Minnesota, Michigan, Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Pennsylvania, New York, and Vermont. Our goal is to work together to support an environmentally responsible, science-based, competitive, and sustainable aquaculture industry in the Great Lakes region. Please feel free to reach out to us via email or phone.
Why is Sea Grant Involved in This?
The project’s primary goal is to provide relevant, science-based initiatives that support an environmentally responsible, competitive, and sustainable aquaculture industry in the Great Lakes region.
State Advisory Groups
The function of the GLAC state advisory groups is to facilitate successful transfer of knowledge from the GLAC project team to aquaculture industries, associations, and professional networks. State advisory group members may include representatives from producer groups, regulators, researchers, and allied industries. The GLAC seeks members who are engaged in functions throughout the aquaculture supply chain.
