The Ramada Plaza Ojibway Hotel is the oldest historic hotel in Michigan’s oldest city. It’s quaint and comfortable — you’ll feel right at home! Conference sessions, meetings, and some meals will happen at the hotel, but we will travel off-site for field trips. Parking at the hotel is free.

When booking your lodging with the Ramada, please mention that you are part of the Great Lakes Sea Grant Network Meeting in order to receive the group rate of $139. There also are a few suites which include a living room available for $200.

Chippewa County International Airport (CIU) is located 20 minutes from Sault Ste. Marie, MI, and is the primary airport for individuals planning to fly into the area.

Flights can be booked through any normal air flight booking system such as, Kayak, Conlin Travel, etc. Flights are available through both Detroit, MI, and St. Paul, MN.

There are two flights into and two flights out of the airport each day through Delta Air Lines. Flights from Detroit arrive around 3 p.m. and flights from MN arrive after 11 p.m. Michigan Sea Grant will provide van transportation from the airport to the hotel on Sunday night (MN flight), and Monday (both flights).

Daily departure flights out of Sault Ste. Marie leave for MN around 7 a.m. and for Detroit about 3:30 p.m. Michigan Sea Grant will provide van transportation to the airport on Thursday afternoon and Friday morning.
